NEIGHBOURS have paid tribute to Doris Jean Dunn who died in a house fire on Monday.
Widow Mrs Dunn, 75, who was known as Jean, died in a blaze at her home in King John Avenue, Bearwood.
She is thought to have worked as a cleaner at Bournemouth Airport and her husband Ted was a milkman.
Carol Newcombe, who has known Mrs Dunn for 32 years, said: "Her husband Ted, who was a lovely man, died a long time ago.
"Jean was very friendly, you could have a laugh with her.
"If there was any wrongdoing she was very up front about it. She was very straight and very pleasant. She was a very jolly lady."
She said in recent years Mrs Dunn had not gone out much but had been visited by her two sons Brian and David.
Mrs Newcombe believes that she also had a daughter called Sandra.
Mrs Dunn used to have a small black dog called Dillon but when she became ill she was unable to look after the dog.
One of her sons took the dog but brought him to visit, said neighbours.
Neighbour Maureen Arthur said: "We moved in 34 years ago and Jean was already living here.
"She was very happy and always ready to chat.
"She was always cheerful. It's very sad."
