POLICE are investigating an assault outside a Bournemouth school involving two teenage girls. 

Footage seen by the Echo shows a girl in school unform be repeatedly punched and attacked by another girl in pink clothes before she falls to the floor. 

The victim sustained swelling and bruising to her face following the attack and had to be taken to hospital, according to the police. 

The incident happened outside of Bishop of Winchester Academy earlier this month. 

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Dorset Police received a report at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, 11 July 2023, that a girl was assaulted by a teenage girl outside the Bishop of Winchester Academy in Mallard Road in Bournemouth.  

“The victim sustained swelling and bruising to her face and attended hospital for treatment.  

“Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident and have spoken to the victim and her family to provide support.  

“Officers are also liaising with the school as part of their investigation. No arrests have been made.” 

The Bishop of Winchester Academy has been approached for a comment. 

It is understood the incident has been reported to OFSTED. 

A spokeswoman for OFSTED said: “We don’t confirm if we have received complaints or concerns about an individual school, but we do take all complaints received seriously.”
