A MAN had his Rolex watch ‘forcefully’ stolen from his wrist as he walked in Bournemouth town centre.

The victim – a man aged in his 40s – had been walking through the Lower Gardens toward Gervis Place between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday, June 24, when he was approached by another man.

The man then forcefully removed his wristwatch and then ran off with it in the direction of Gervis Place.

The stolen watch was a Rolex Sub-Mariner wristwatch in stainless steel with a black face and bezel.

The victim sustained minor cuts to his hand as well as bruising to his hand and wrist.

Officers investigating the town centre robbery are appealing for information and issuing an image of a watch that was stolen.

He was dressed all in black and may have been wearing white trainers.

Police Constable Jez Lee, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been conducting a number of enquiries into this robbery, including a trawl of CCTV footage in the area, and I am keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident.

“I am also issuing an image of the watch that was stolen and would urge anyone who comes across a matching watch being offered for sale locally or online in unusual or suspicious circumstances to please contact us.”
