POLICE are searching for a weapon after a teenage boy was attacked with a knife in Poole town centre.

The 17-year-old victim sustained a serious injury to his arm following the incident at Poole Bus Station on Tuesday afternoon, June 27.

Police say no weapon has been recovered at this stage.

Dorset Police has urged anyone who comes across a knife or bladed article in the area not to touch it and to contact police immediately.

The teenager was taken to hospital after the incident which was reported to police shortly after 5pm.

A 20-year-old man from Poole has been arrested in relation to the incident.

At this time officers do not believe anyone else is involved in this incident.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 17.07hrs on June 27th to an incident in the Poole area. We sent two double-crew land ambulances, critical care car, doctor and operations officer. One individual was conveyed by land ambulance to Poole Hospital.”
