A MINI driver towing a boat or a small caravan failed to stop after a crash with a cyclist.

The crash occurred at around 12.15pm on Tuesday, June 13 in Ferry Road in Studland, close to the chain ferry.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was reportedly struck by the item that was being towed by the white or cream coloured Mini, which is believed to be either a boat or a small caravan.

He fell from his bike but did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses to help them identify the driver involved, who failed to stop at the scene.

Police constable Rob Cook, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries into this incident and are keen to identify the driver of the Mini involved so we can take their account.

“I would also like to speak to any witnesses or motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
