A LOG CABIN for the Julia’s House children’s hospice site in Springdale Road, Corfe Mullen will be used to provide extra therapy sessions.

The 5 by 3 metre building, if approved by Dorset Council, will give the Dorset-wide charity extra space for complementary therapy sessions.

Julia’s House says its proposals involve the removal of three existing storage sheds and the installation of the log cabin on the same footprint in the rear garden.

Said the charity in its planning application: “The cabin will be used for the delivery of complementary therapy for the children and family members that the charity support. The therapy will be delivered during the opening times of the hospice.

“The log cabin is 3m x 5m and will contain a seating area for counselling and an area for therapy…It will have an insulated floor and roof.

“The roof will have a black shingle covering and the walls will remain the natural colour. The cabin will sit on a level base on top of an existing tarmac hardstanding and will have an electricity and water supply for the use of heating, lighting and washing of hands.”
