CANNABIS, drugs paraphernalia and a “large amount” of alcohol was seized from more than 150 young people on Sandbanks beach.

Officers from Poole Neighbouring Policing Team were called on Friday night, June 17, to reports of antisocial behaviour and underage drinking.

A total of 10 section 35 dispersal notices were issued to prevent antisocial behaviour.

Poole Police said a “number of youths” suffering the effects of alcohol which “left them in a vulnerable situation” were collected by parents.

A spokesperson said: “Parents of a number of the remaining children taken home by officers did not know where their child was or who they were with.

“Do you know where your child is or what they are doing?”

The incident comes just days after the Echo reported residents have raised concerns about gangs of youths “congregating” in the area.

As reported, beach hut owners and renters just off Shore Road in Sandbanks have put in numerous complaints to police and council about anti-social behaviour taking place particularly in the evenings.
