A man has admitted producing cannabis following the reported discovery of a cannabis factory in Christchurch.

Hekuran Xhindi was charged with producing the class B drug at a premises in Christchurch.

Appearing before Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, May 25, Xhindi, of Wellington Road, Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to the single allegation on a basis.

The 30-year-old was remanded in custody ahead of a sentencing hearing at the same court on Friday, July 14.

As reported, Dorset Police were called to reports of a suspected cannabis factory at a site in Groveley Road in the Purewell area of Christchurch on the morning of Friday, April 7.

Officers attended and discovered a large-scale operation cultivating what was believed to be cannabis plants.

A cordon was in place at the scene while a search of the unit took place.

Detective Constable Evelyn Hoslett, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We will continue to do all we can to tackle the suspected supply of illegal drugs in our communities and ensure those reported to be involved are dealt with robustly.

“If any members of the public have any information about suspected drug misuse or supply offences, please come forward and tell us.”
