A by-election will take place after a councillor resigned within days of being elected.
Residents in the East Cliff and Springbourne ward will go to the polls again on Thursday, June 29.
The election comes following the resignation of Labour’s Martin Bedford earlier this month.
Mr Bedford was elected to represent the area of Bournemouth on Friday, May 5, after securing the most votes in the ward.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, May 10, he said he had taken the “difficult decision” to stand down as a councillor due to ongoing health issues.
Providing an update on filling the councillor vacancy, a BCP Council spokesperson said: “Following the resignation of a councillor, the council has now received two electors’ requests to hold a by-election in the East Cliff and Springbourne ward, and it will be held on June 29, 2023.
“We will publish the official Notice of Election on Wednesday, May 24.”
