THE 'ultimate chill-out zone' that is available for private hire in Bournemouth - The Hatch is Trader of the Week.

Found in Kerley Road, and in the back garden of the Havana Beach House Hotel, The Hatch is a cosy set up of sofas, benches, and log burners.

It was first opened as a bar and restaurant in November 2022 by Terry Crump, but following a brief closure over the winter, it is now moving in a 'slightly different direction'.

Now, the venue is being used to host events and is available for private hire.

Discussing hire options, marketing and promotion manager Ian Black, said: “We’re very flexible with what we offer, and we try to create bespoke packages for people that want to hire the place.

“We try and do it in a way which means people can get exactly what they want.”

A group hiring The Hatch can expect a surfing-themed venue with an incredibly relaxed feel.

They can also make use of the venue’s bar, bring their own food and drink, or request for the owners to organise caterers.

Ian said: “They can expect to have a really great time in a relaxed environment. They can be themselves, there isn’t any requirement to ‘show up’.

“It’s very relaxed, and we’ve changed the shape of the venue, so we now have a lot more covering so it's warmer if the weather is not on our side.”

On April 13, it hosted the launch of a new Asian street food company called The Bao Beast, allowing it to set up a food truck and sell produce.

But there is plenty more to come for The Hatch with the venue set to host an exciting event every month.

The next one will be a 'pizza party' on May 20 from 4pm until 10pm. The event is family-friendly and free and will feature music throughout the day.
