MISSED bin collections in an area of Christchurch are due to new staff, say the council.
A number of residents in Burton have reported missed collections of their food waste bins in recent weeks.
BCP Council said the issues are related to the arrival of new bin collectors, who still need to “learn the routes”.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “We’re very sorry that some residents in Burton have experienced problems with the weekly food waste collection service.
"A brand new crew has very recently taken over this route, and whilst this issue hasn’t affected all properties, we appreciate that some bins have been missed.
"Each daily round in Burton includes over 2000 properties, so it will take time for the new crew to learn the routes and properties.
“We would like to thank the Burton community for their understanding and remind everyone to leave their bin in the most visible place from the roadside.”
