A YOUNG boy was injured and needed medical treatment after being bitten by a dog while playing in a park in Bournemouth

At around 5pm on Sunday, February 12, a 13-year-old boy was playing at Cunningham Crescent Park in West Howe when a French Bulldog-type dog jumped up at him and bit him on the leg.

The bite caused an injury that required medical treatment.

It is reported the dog’s male owner asked the boy if he was all right, but the boy left without getting his details.

The man is described as white and aged in his 40s. He was wearing a long grey coat with a fur hood.

Officers investigating the dog bite incident are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Jennie Sykes, of Dorset Police, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident, and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“I would also urge the owner of the dog involved to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
