A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested after reports of “persistent anti-social behaviour” involving a small group of young people.
On Tuesday, February 14, it is alleged a break-in was attempted at an address in Copse Road, in Verwood. No items were stolen and one got inside the property.
On Saturday, February 18, it is alleged a second incident occurred at the Tesco Express store in Ringwood Road, Verwood, at around 9pm.
It is reported that a member of staff asked two boys to leave the store, before being subsequently assaulted. No injuries were sustained but damage was reportedly caused to a box containing charity tokens.
Following enquiries by the local neighbourhood policing teams into both incidents, a 16-year-old boy from Verwood is due to attend for voluntary interview in relation to both incidents.
A 14-year-old boy from Verwood was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, criminal damage and theft and was released on police bail while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for East Dorset Police said: “The investigations into both incidents remain ongoing at this time and officers from the local neighbourhood policing team can be approached by anyone with any information or concerns.”
