EMERGENCY roadworks are causing delays for motorists in West Parley.
SGN are carrying out urgent repairs to their gas network in New Road near Dudsbury Gardens.
Temporary traffic lights are currently in place at the location.
The utility company said it is “too soon to say” how long the repairs will take.
Dorset Council has alerted motorists to the emergency works via a Tweet. It reads: "SGN are dealing with a gas escape on New Rd, near Dudsbury Gardens. Temporary lights are in place.
"There will be daily safety checks but there won't be a constant SGN presence on site until specialist resources are mobilised."
