THE jury in the trial of a man accused of sexual activity with a child in a Bournemouth toilet block has been discharged after a juror tested positive for Covid.
Richard Derek Coulson, 52, was on trial at Bournemouth Crown Court accused of three offences relating to an incident in the toilets at Pier Approach on the morning of Saturday, May 7, last year.
Judge Susan Evans KC told the jury on Wednesday, March 8, that one of their members had tested positive for Covid that morning.
“I am going to discharge you as a panel,” Judge Evans KC said.
The judge said a fresh jury panel of 12 people would be selected.
Coulson, of Merlewood Close, Bournemouth, denies three counts of sexual activity with a child.
