AN application by a Christchurch to restaurant to retain parts of its outdoor decking has been approved.
The Boathouse in Quay Road has been granted retrospective permission for areas of decking found on the western side of the building.
The popular restaurant already had permission for a large part of its decking, but there were areas that had not been granted- until now.
In the application, it was argued these parts were “indistinguishable” from the lawful areas and were “viewed as being part of the decking as a whole”.
It also talked about the areas being beneficial throughout and after the Covid pandemic, with more people making use of the restaurant’s outdoor spaces.
