MOTORISTS have been warned of delays with major roadworks set to commence on a main route through Bournemouth.

Three weeks of works on the A338 Wessex Way in Bournemouth are starting today- here is everything you need to know.

What is happening and why?

How long will it take?

The work is expected to begin on Sunday evening and will take around three weeks to complete.

However, the road will be open to traffic during the weekends of March 11 and 12, and March 18 and 19.

How will it affect my journey?

There will be lane closures and contraflows in place throughout the duration of the work
