A CHARITY in Dorset is helping young people to find their dream prom dress at an affordable price.
School leavers will have an exclusive opportunity to browse and try on outfits at a prom dress ‘try and buy’ event held by the Julia’s House charity superstore in Creekmoor, Poole.
Showcasing around 200 donated and nearly new prom dresses, shoes and accessories, the evening event on Thursday, March 30 is designed to help young people be the belle of the ball at a lower cost.
Tracy Stanley, Julia’s House retail manager, said: “At a time when living costs are drastically rising, we’re proud that we can help this year’s school leavers to obtain their prom outfits in an affordable way.
“Buying preloved goods, such as the clothing we have in our charity shops, is an ethical alternative to today’s fast fashion and throwaway culture. Well made products, such a prom dresses, can remain in use for decades, reducing waste and helping the environment.”
Julia’s House is also calling out for proms dress donations. Anyone who donates a prom dress bought from Julia’s House back to the charity will receive 20 per cent off their next purchase in any of their fourteen high street shops across Dorset and Wiltshire.
The ‘try and buy’ evening will run from 6pm till 9pm and is completely free of charge to attend, but requires a pre-booking. For more information visit https://juliashousecreekmoor.timetap.com/#/
