A SHOPPING village in West Parley is set unveil a new collection of traders following an expansion.

Room 1553 Vintage Emporium has expanded into a third building, seeing it welcome more than 20 new dealers of vintage, antique and retro collectables.

Owners Steve and Lisa Tydeman say the emporium is now “bigger and better” and will provide space for people to launch businesses during “difficult times”.

The new area will be unveiled to the public on Wednesday, March 1.

Steve said: “We’re so excited, and it will be nice to be able to share it with other people.

Bournemouth Echo:

“The building itself is a gorgeous building. It’s got a sort of Tudor theme, so it’s all black and white. It looks spectacular.”

The emporium, which is located inside Basket and Blooms Garden Centre, was opened in October last year.

The shopping village has continued to grow in popularity, with customers enjoying its stock of items from across the years, including garden statutes, clocks, jewellery, furniture, and mirrors.

But even more products are being added to the display, with lots of new traders having already moved into the additional space.

Steve said: “It’s nearly full now with traders. Everyone’s been coming in to set up their areas.

Bournemouth Echo:

“There’s a mixture of vintage and antiques, there’s up-cycled furniture, a retro stand, lovely mirrors, and glassware. There’s everything from clocks, warcraft, chairs, sofas. It’s all stuff that’s of an age, but stuff that is nice and can be used.”

Steve explained that spring was the perfect time for an expansion, with it being one of the busiest times of the year for the garden centre.

He added: “It’s a real good time to have an expansion and bring in other people with us.

“It’s also giving people a chance to startup their own businesses. They can sell without being here, because we can look after it for them.”

Room 1553 Vintage Emporium will be opening at 10am on March 1, and refreshments will be handed out to customers and traders throughout the launch day.
