AS I said in my previous letter, if Bournemouth council were to reduce business rates or give a business free rates for a period of time, maybe we would get interest from other retailers to lease the former Beale’s property – and if the rent was capped at a reasonable rate too.
Developing the building for residential is going to cause havoc with traffic and parking.
I would be interested to know who is the freeholder of the property.
Maybe a few flats, shops and a restaurant would work but don’t create a white elephant.
All property owners in the BCP area should be made to keep their properties up together whether it’s residential or business.
I have seen many houses etc piled with rubbish and left outside.
An example is Kimberley Road, Southbourne.
It appears the land owner has had many years to put things right so it should be sold in auction.
