A CAR fire is being tackled by emergency personnel just outside Barclays House in Poole.
The vehicle was completely alight by the junction of Serpentine Road with the B3068 towards The George roundabout between Barclays House and the Dolphin Shopping Centre.
Residents have reported seeing thick black smoke in the air above the area due to the fire.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Serpentine Road, Poole at 2.47pm this afternoon following reports of a vehicle fire.
“Crews from Poole and Westbourne are currently in attendance, extinguishing the car (fully involved in fire) using two hose reel jets.”
The road was closed for a period by police while firefighters made the area safe.
Dorset Police said: “Report received at 2.45pm of a vehicle fire in High Street in Poole. Officers attended with the fire service. The road has since reopened.”
