AN INTERIOR designer has been appointed for AFC Bournemouth’s new multi-million-pound training ground complex.

Poole-based Keeley Fox Interior Design will lead the design scheme for the £32million project at the former golf club in Canford Magna, on which construction is underway.

The new training ground, which is anticipated to take several years to complete, is already in partial use with one full-sized pitch being used by the Cherries’ academy teams.

Some of the design scope given to Keeley Fox Interior Design for the new facility includes the main reception, the first team reception, the first team’s lounge, the media suite and the first team's changing room.

The design team is already in the initial concept stages and expects to complete the design development by early summer this year.

Company director Keeley Fox said: “We are delighted that AFC Bournemouth has recognised our commercial talent and has appointed us to lead the interior design for this very important project.

“It means so much as a local design firm to be able to support our club, and the new training ground is an incredibly positive addition to the area. It will bring many opportunities for young athletes, up-and-coming footballers, and the businesses supporting them.

“The interior design of the new facility will not only give a nod to reflect the journey AFC Bournemouth has been on, but also give the players and their coaches an environment befitting of a Premier League club.”

When complete, the 57-acre complex will bring the Cherries first team, development squad, academy and pre-academy training operations and facilities into one location.
