MOREBUS has invested £7.7million as it expands its fleet of buses after taking on several new services.

The conurbation’s main bus operator is set to welcome 28 brand new double decker buses this June after taking on 10 new services since the collapse of Yellow Buses last summer.

Each of the vehicles has a smart new look and sports the latest Euro 6 low emissions engine - the newest and cleanest standard for diesel.

The fleet of ADL Enviro 400 buses feature USB charging points and contactless tap on, tap off ticketing technology.

Morebus managing director Andrew Wickham said: “Built to be far kinder to the environment, these new buses are very similar to our new fleet of Unibus vehicles - but with new seat, cloth and floor design.

“Our new fleet of ADL Enviro 400 double decker buses will initially serve our M1 route between Poole and Bournemouth. This is currently served by single decker vehicles, so our customers will enjoy an increase in capacity along this route.

“The new buses will also run on the 5/5A Bournemouth to Kinson service.

“We’re very proud to be operating this new fleet from June 2023, following the successful introduction of new routes last year.”
