Heartbroken staff and volunteers are picking up the pieces after a break-in at their charity shop in Poole.
Thieves smashed the front door of the Dogs Trust charity shop in Poole on Saturday night.
They stole the till and various IT equipment, also taking the store's well-known three feet high dog collection box.
The raid caused thousands of pounds worth of damage, staff said.
Manager Veronique Dubois said: “ I am heartbroken that our much loved Dogs Trust shop has been broken into and vandalised.
"Poole residents love this shop but we can reassure them we will be back trading as soon as possible to raise much needed money for dogs in need."
The store is due to be open on Monday.
Police have been informed and forensic investigators were due to visit on Sunday.
