MORE cars have been left stranded in deep water under a railway bridge in Christchurch.
Two cars were left abandoned in the floodwater in Stony Lane on Monday night.
The area has been hit by rising water levels and days of heavy rain, seeing it made impassable.
A section of the carriageway running under the bridge is currently closed off for motorists.
On Monday morning, another driver was also forced to abandon his vehicle in the floodwater, after the engine cut out.
The Daily Echo contacted BCP Council following the incident to ask if the issue has been exacerbated by blocked drains or if the flooding is purely due to the level of rainfall.
A BCP Council spokesperson said: “The railway bridge area of Stony Lane in Burton is flooded and closed due to high river levels and not blocked drains.
“BCP Council continues to carefully monitor all flooding related issues and reports.”
