POLICE are trying to trace a person who reported that there was a man with a knife in the area of a Bournemouth park three weeks ago.

Officers rushed to King’s Park following the report at around 2.30pm on Saturday, November 20.

A man was detained for a search and a knife was reportedly found in the vicinity, a Bournemouth Police spokesperson said.

There were no reports of any threats being made to members of the public.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article. He was subsequently released without charge and enquiries into the matter are ongoing.

In a post on social media published on December 6, Sergeant Paul Hind, of Bournemouth Police, said: “This incident was reported by a member of the public to officers who were on patrol in the area and they responded immediately.

“Our investigation into this incident is continuing and we are keen to trace the individual who made the initial report, so we can take further details from them.”
