A MAN has received a prison sentence for damaging windows at two pharmacies and having an axe in public.

Matthew Simon Church was charged with two counts of criminal damage and possession of a blade article in the Tuckton area of Bournemouth.

Church, aged 46, pleaded guilty to all three offences when he appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, December 2, via video link from HMP Channings Wood.

Bournemouth Echo:

The defendant damaged the windows of The Healthpoint Pharmacy in Tuckton Road and nearby Tuckton Pharmacy on March 4. He was also in possession of an axe.

Magistrates committed Church to prison for a total of 14 weeks, with court papers stating he was a serving prisoner and no other sentence was appropriate due to the nature and seriousness of the offending.
