A DORSET man who pleaded guilty to criminal damage and failing to provide a specimen for analysis to police while in Cornwall has been disqualified from driving and made to pay thousands in compensation.

Michal Przepierski, aged 39, of St Georges Avenue in Poole, Dorset, appeared in front of magistrates at Truro Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 21 on one count of failing to provide a specimen for analysis, one count of criminal damage under £5,000, and one count of failing to stop after a road accident.

The offences took place on Thursday, October 27 when Przepierski, while in Camborne, was suspected of having driven a vehicle and was required to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence failed without reasonable excuse to do so.

On the same day, while in Falmouth, Przepierski, without lawful excuse, damaged a communal entrance door, surrounding heavy-duty door frame and video doorbell system to the value of £2,000.

Przepierski pleaded guilty to both offences while the third, failing to stop after a road accident, was withdrawn in favour of the guilty pleas to the other charges.

During his sentencing, Przepierski was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months, fined £120, and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £48.

He was also made to pay £2,505 in compensation to the victim.

No order for costs was made due to priority being given to compensation.

The court also noted how Przepierski's guilty pleas had been taken into account when imposing the sentence.
