A MAN was treated in hospital after being attacked by a group of teenagers in Swanage.

At around 6pm on Friday, December 2, a man aged in his 40s was walking in High Street when he approached a group of around four teenagers outside Jewson builders merchants.

The group became abusive toward him and he was then assaulted. The victim sustained facial injuries that required hospital treatment.

Officers carrying out an investigation into the assault are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Stuart Wilson, of Purbeck Police, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this assault and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“In particular, I understand a member of the public came to the aid of the victim after the incident and I would be keen to speak to this individual as they may have information to assist our investigation.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident to please check any dashcam footage for anything of relevance.”
