A BCP Council political party in Poole has changed its name as it pledges to engage with residents.
Poole Local, formed last year when four councillors were rejected from selection as Conservative candidates ahead of the local elections next year, has changed its name to Poole Engage.
Poole Enagage Party is made up of councillors Judes Butt, Creekmoor councillor and the chairman, and Mohan Iyengar, ward councillor for Canford Cliffs and group leader.
They are joined by Cllr Daniel Butt and Cllr Julie Bagwell, ward councillor for Hamworthy, and Cllr Steve Baron, ward councillor for Parkstone.

Speaking of the new party, which officially launched after a sign-off from the Electoral Commission, chairman Cllr Judes Butt said: “We’re what it says on the tin. We’ll engage with residents, businesses and organisations.
“We’ll work with you and for you, while being independent and free to do what locals want to see done, without party politics or any need to toe the line.”
She added: “We’ll champion an open style that allows real participation and debate. We’ll simplify things that are complex and seek to make positive changes with simple and straight-forward actions.”
