THE LITTLEDOWN Centre is expected to reopen today, Tuesday, November 29, five days after an early hours fire affected the power supply.

This includes the gym, studios and hall, pool, football pitches, café and bar. Swimming lessons, club sessions and other junior activities will also resume.

This comes after an electrical fire broke out on the site in the early hours of Thursday morning, causing a power outage. The site has been closed since and is expected to reopen tomorrow.

A spokesperson from BH Live said: “A generator is being used to temporarily power Littledown at this time.

“This is supporting the centre’s essential systems and controls. As such the spa (health suite) at Littledown remains temporarily closed.

“If the health suite is included in your membership, please continue to use other spa facilities at Stokewood, Sir David English, Pelhams and Corfe Mullen (opening times vary, please ask in centre for details).

“Classes, activities, gym and pool timetables for Littledown will be available on the BH Live Active app and bhliveactive.org.uk this afternoon.

“For the remainder of today (Monday 28 November), where possible, please use other centres for gym, classes, activities, swimming and sports.

“As part of BH Live Active’s multisite membership, alternative facilities are available at Stokewood, Sir David English Sports Centre, Pelhams and Corfe Mullen (facilities vary at each centre).

“We are working hard to get the centre open for tomorrow. If you have any queries about your membership, you are encouraged to please ask in the centre when it reopens and not to visit or telephone Littledown today (Monday 28 November).”
