PLANS have been revealed on what could fill part of a town centre premises following the closure of a popular clothes shop.

M&Co closed its branch at units 4-8 of Crown Mead Shopping Centre, Wimborne, on Saturday, November 26.

A planning application submitted with Dorset Council appears to show the premises has already been lined up by a new business.

Retail chain Specsavers has tabled the proposal for signage on the front of units 4-6, with a public consultation currently ongoing.

The business has also submitted a separate application to install a series of air conditioning units in the service yard at the rear of the premies.

A Specsavers spokeswoman said: “'Specsavers is always looking at ways of better serving local communities and we are hoping to open a new store in Wimborne Minster next summer.

“In the meantime, we continue to provide excellent value and service to customers in Dorset in other locations, including Poole Talbot Heath, Poole and Winton.”
