It will feel like winter has truly arrived this week as temperatures plummet and we're forced to pull out the thermals.

The first cold snap of the season could arrive by the end of the week, although the chances of frosts are low due to overcast conditions, says weather enthusiast Dorset Snow.

The Met Office say temperatures in the BCP area could be as low as 7C on Friday.

Giving his prediction, Dorset Snow said: "Our first ‘cold snap’ of the season looks pretty nailed on for early December.

"Easterly winds delivering chilly but mostly dry and overcast conditions for a short time. Daytime highs between 5-7C by the end of next week.

"What happens beyond that remains a mystery, but it could turn much colder. Models are chopping and changing with each run. This mornings GFS is very cold with a strong Greenland high developing."

He added: "Next 10 days could throw up some very interesting model output for cold fans."

It's set to remain fairly overcast all week, according to the Met Office.

A spokesperson said: "Overnight frosts are likely under clear skies, however murky starts are possible from Tuesday. Feeling colder than of late with lighter winds."
