Around 10,000 Kit Kats were handed out outside Elements, Toko and Walkabout in Bournemouth.
Police and nightspot bosses were thrilled to discover the simple measure distracted revellers and led to a reduction in offences of violence during the trial period
These revellers were snapped on a night out on May 3, 2004, when the trial with free chocolate was run.
