A Sainsbury's petrol station is closed this afternoon after a car crashed into it.

The crash, which happened at around 8am on Friday, November 25, happened at the Sainsbury’s store in Ringwood Road, Ferndown, and the car crashed into the petrol station kiosk. 

Crews from Ferndown Fire Station made sure the scene was safe and assisted with first aid for one casualty prior to the ambulance service arriving. 

There are no reports of serious injuries, but one person was taken to Poole hospital.

A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a petrol filling station on Ringwood Road, Ferndown at 8.19am this morning after a car was in collision with the shop. 

“One crew from Ferndown attended and made the scene safe; they also assisted with first aid for one casualty prior to the ambulance service arriving.  

“Our stop was at 10.15am.” 

A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We received a report at 8.22am that a car had collided with the shopfront at Sainsbury’s petrol station in Ringwood Road, Ferndown.

"Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services. There were no reports of any serious injuries.

"Recovery was arranged and officers left the scene at around 11.25am."

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “Emergency services were called to an incident at our Ferndown petrol filling station this morning.

"The site is currently closed and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 08:16rs to an incident near Ferndown. We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital.”
