Wondering when your bins will be collected over Christmas? 

It's that boring but essential information that suddenly becomes super important during the festive season.

You wake up and wonder when the bins will be collected next or if you might have missed it. 

Then fear you might have to visit the tip. 

To help you plan ahead, here's when bin collections will take place across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. 

BCP Council said: “Your rubbish, recycling and food waste collection dates will be changing over the festive period, as there will be no collections on Boxing Day, Monday 26 December.

“Instead, your usual collection day will be pushed back by one day, with our collection crews working on Saturday 31 December to accommodate for this change.”

Here are the revised bin collection dates for the festive period:

Monday, December 26 – collections to take place on Tuesday, December 27

Tuesday, December 27 – collections to take place on Wednesday, December 28

Wednesday, December 28 – collections to take place on Thursday, December 29

Thursday, December 29 – collections to take place on Friday, December 30

Friday, December 30 – collections to take place on Saturday, December 31

Residents should place their bins at the kerbside by 5am on your usual collection day.

Extra rubbish and recycling

Extra bags of rubbish or recycling placed next to or on top of your bin, won’t be collected. You’ll need to take them to any of the following recycling centres; Bournemouth Recycling Centre, Christchurch Recycling Centre, Poole Recycling Centre.

All sites will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Christmas trees also won’t be taken with rubbish and recycling collections.
