A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences after a woman aged in her 70s was hospitalised with serious injuries after a crash in Poole

A pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries after a crash involving a black Citroen C3. 

Dorset Police received a report of the incident at around 1.50pm on Tuesday, November 1 involving the pedestrian and the Citroen in Shaftesbury Road, at the junction with Denmark Road. 

A 42-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and has been released under investigation as enquiries continue. 

Police Constable Jonathan Rowland, of the traffic unit, said: “Our investigation into this collision remains ongoing and I am keen to speak to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police. 

“I appreciate this incident was some time ago, but following further contact with the injured party, we have obtained more information and are now in a position to appeal for information. 

“I would also be keen to speak to anyone who may still have dashcam footage relating to the incident.”
