DORSET Police and the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of a ‘suspected stolen van’ on fire in St Leonards this morning.
Dorset traffic cops are appealing for anyone who knows of a stolen/missing dark blue van to get in touch. The bonnet of the van has been destroyed in the fire.
A spokesperson from Dorset Traffic Cops said: “We’re currently awaiting recovery with a suspected stolen/abandoned Ford Transit Custom in the St Leonard’s and St Ives area of Dorset.
“It’ll take a couple of days before our vehicle examiners are able to identify it. If you know of a stolen/missing dark blue van such as this that has yet to be reported, please get in touch on 101. There is a distinctive sticker on the right hand rear door.”
A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 08:40 a call was received reporting a transit van on fire on Grange Road, St Leonards. Crews from Ferndown attended and extinguished the fire using 2 hose reel jets and 2 breathing apparatus.”
