CHRISTMAS markets have returned to the Bournemouth Square to mark the beginning of the town’s festive celebrations.

Thousands flock to the market each year to explore the 30 plus chalet style huts, with the food offerings always being a highlight.

But how much will a trip to the market cost you?

The Daily Echo has put together a price guide for this year’s food and drink stalls.

  • The German Grill

At the German Grill, you can expect to pay between £6 and £7 for a bratwurst. A traditional bratwurst is priced at £6, whilst the other varieties are priced at £7. These include the ‘cheese krakauer’, a red pork sausage with bacon and cheese filling, and the ‘giant beef chilli’, a beef sausage with a hint of chilli.

  • Raclette melted cheese

A portion of Raclette cheese, with either potatoes, fries, or a baguette, will cost you £7.50 at this stall. There is an option to add shredded ham, but this will cost an extra £1.50.

  • Yorkshire Pudding Wraps

A Yorkshire pudding wrap at the markets will cost you £10. For this price, you’ll have a choice of roast beef, roast pork, honey roast ham or roast turkey, and mixed seasonal vegetables to fill the wrap.

  • El Murrino pizzas

At the El Murrino stall, you can expect to pay anything between £7 and £10 for one of their authentic Italian pizzas. A Margherita pizza is priced at £8, whilst the other six options on their menu are priced at £10. These include pepperoni, shredded chicken and pulled pork pizzas. Extra vegetarian toppings are priced at £1 each, while extra meat toppings are priced at £2. The cheapest item on the menu is a nutella pizza, which will cost you £7.

  • Mighty Wieners

Mighty Wieners’ is bringing the plant-based food to this year’s market. A 10” wiener in a brioche bun will cost you anything between £8.75 and £9.50, depending on the toppings you have. Loaded fries from the stall cost between £6 and £6.25, again depending on the toppings. A side of skin on fries is priced at £3.75, whilst a gravy pot is priced at £2.50.

  • Churros King

The cost of Churros by Churros King varies between £5.50 and £9.50, depending how many you get. A small portion of six churros costs £5.50, a medium portion of nine churros costs £7.50, and a large portion of 12 churros costs £9.50. You can choose to add a dipping sauce for £1.50.

  • The Chocolate Bar

At the Chocolate Bar, you can expect to pay £5.50 for a hot chocolate served with marshmallows, cream, a gingerbread man and a candy cane. This price covers all flavours, which include caramel, cinnamon, biscoff and apple pie.

  • Christmas Crepes

The price essentially varies based on how deluxe your crepe is. A classic crepe, with either Nutella, white chocolate, milk chocolate, or lemon and sugar, is priced at £6. A deluxe special, with either, oreo, biscoff, banoffee, or rocky road, is priced at £7. Savoury crepes are also available and are priced at £6.50.

  • The Bournemouth Brownie Company

Homemade brownies by the Bournemouth Brownie Co are £3.60 each, or three for £9.50. The flavours include oreo, jammie dodger, mars bar and salted caramel. A vegan biscoff brownie is priced slightly higher at £3.90.
