Morebus announces price increases to its tickets from next week

The bus company has confirmed a price increase for some of its bus tickets from Monday, November 21. 

A spokesperson for Morebus said the cost of running its services has increased “significantly” and that they were “reluctant” to increase its prices. 

The price of a day rider ticket on the M1 and M2 routes has increased by 13 per cent from £3.70 to £4.20. 

The spokesperson added: “The cost of running our bus services has significantly increased.  This has meant we have had to review the cost of our fares and have reluctantly increased some ticket prices. 

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly.  

“We have kept any prices rises to a minimum and some fares are not changing at all.  

“The best value tickets for regular travellers are on our app.   

“And for those that buy singles or dayriders we recommend you use tap on tap off contactless, for paperless ticketing. 

“Most of our single and return fares will increase by between 10p and 50p and a few will change by other amounts.” 

A normal adult dayider paper ticket has gone up 30p to £4.80 and is £4.60 when purchased on the app. 

Morebus has increased the price of its annual adult ticket from £780 to £845.
