A WOMAN remains in a serious condition in hospital following a crash with a Nissan Micra in Bournemouth earlier this month. 

An investigation remains ongoing and police are looking to find the driver of a black hatchback, possibly a Mercedes A-Class, who may have witnessed the incident in Poole Road, Westbourne. 

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 50s, was taken to hospital following the crash with a white Nissan Micra, where she remains in a serious condition. 

The crash happened at around 11.15am on Tuesday, November 8. 

A 47-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

He was subsequently charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs, using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 10.  

He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, December 8. 

Police Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said: “Our investigation is continuing and I would urge anyone who saw what happened to please come forward. 

“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of a black hatchback car, possibly a Mercedes A Class, that was driving toward Westbourne at around 11.15am on the day of the collision as they may have witnessed what happened. If you are the driver, please make contact with Dorset Police.”
