EMERGENCY services were called to a house in Swanage on Monday morning after a car collided with a house, dislodging the brickwork.

At 10:59am today, emergency services rushed to Osborne Road after a driver crashed their car into a house.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene at 10.59am.

"One crew from Swanage is on the scene, and we are awaiting the arrival of a building control officer to check the structural integrity of the property."

The fire service said the driver was uninjured, but the property was assessed for safety.

Firefighters made the scene safe and cordoned the area off.

A local authority building control officer attended and arranged for the building to be made structurally safe.  

Phil, a passerby said: "I saw it happen, the driver wasn't going very fast but it caused a lot of damage, it just went smashing into the brickwork. 

"I think the driver was trying to reverse but accidentally accelerated."

"It made a really loud noise, everyone came out to look, the owners of the house weren't in at the time I don't think."

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 10.49am on Monday 14 November 2022 of a single vehicle collision in Osborne Road in Swanage.

"It is reported that the vehicle collided with a house. No report of any serious injuries."
