We’re forever seeing bubbles…

Cheeky rascals have once again filled a fountain in Poole with soap suds.

Residents have been left amused after the fountain was full to the brim with bubbles this week.

Emma Cox took this image of the fountain looking like a giant bubble bath on Thursday.

The picture, which has been posted on Facebook, has garnered 433 ‘likes’ and more than 200 comments.

Another person said they had taken a photo of the fountain overflowing with foam on Sunday.

A BCP Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident in Poole Park where a substance has been put in the fountain which creates a large number of bubbles.

"We don’t condone this behaviour and the fountain system will now have to be drained, cleaned and refilled as part of our usual cleaning and maintenance schedule.”

It is not the first time the fountain has been filled with froth.

Pranksters have previously played pulled the stunt over the past few years in what has become something of an unusual and unofficial ‘tradition’.

In May, the Echo reported a mystery person had filled the fountain with bubbles leaving evidence at the scene in the form of empty bottles of washing up liquid and washing powder.

The fountain was installed in Poole Park as part of the centenary celebrations in 1990.
