A MAN is due to appear in court following a crash in Westbourne which reportedly left a woman with “potentially life-threatening injuries”.
Dorset Police received a report at 11.19am on Tuesday, November 8, of a collision involving a white Nissan Micra and a pedestrian in Poole Road, Westbourne.
The pedestrian – a woman aged in her 50s – was taken to hospital for treatment and her condition is described as critical.
Following the incident, which saw Poole Road closed for several hours, a 47-year-old man from Bournemouth has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs, using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The man is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 10.
