These postcards sent in by Allan Cook from his extensive postcard collection take us back as far as over a hundred years ago.

The collection gives a real insight into the changes that have happened to the Poole landscape over the years.

Many of us have memories of picking up a bag of chips from Harbour Fish Bar or grabbing the latest handset from Phones 4 U. And although these activities are resigned to memory, these postcards go back much further.

This postcard of the High Street shows the area which has seen some of the most changes over the years.

The shops to the right were demolished to make way for the Arndale shopping centre and 30 years later the Dolphin Hotel was also demolished to make way for the Falkland Square development.
