MUSICIAN and actor Kiefer Sutherland had to cancel his show at the eleventh hour in Bournemouth after testing positive for Covid.

Kiefer, who is known for his role a Jack Bauer in 24, was due to play at the 02 Academy in Boscombe on Saturday night.

He reportedly took to the stage to announce to the crowd he had tested positive for Covid and as a result, the show would not be going ahead.

The singer is currently in the UK performing his Chasing The Rain Tour.

One gig goer who contacted the Daily Echo said: “Everyone was in the venue, the support band had finished but unfortunately Keifer came on stage ten minutes before his posted stage time to inform the crowd that he had tested positive for Covid that day so the show could not go on.

“He did seem genuinely disappointed, and the crowd took it pretty well. He said that they would return so everyone should keep hold of their tickets. It was pretty good that he came on stage to deliver the news in person rather than sending the tour manager or a member of the venue staff.”

Another person said: “Out of nowhere between the supporting act leaving and Kiefer's band coming on (presumably at 9pm), Kiefer came onto the stage unannounced, and told everyone due to him testing positive for Covid, they wouldn't play that night.”

A statement posted on Kiefer Sutherland’s official Facebook page on Sunday night read: “Hey everybody, I have just received the results from my PCR test which is also positive for Covid. I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am that I cannot finish the remaining dates of this tour.

“I apologize (sic) so deeply to the people who purchased tickets, reserved time and traveled (sic) to attend those concerts.

“I feel absolutely gutted for you. Please accept by profound apologies.”
