I’m A Celebrity fans will be glued to their screens when the popular show returns tonight.

A host of stars will be entering the Australian jungle with trepidation for the 22nd series which airs on ITV at 9pm.

This year’s line-up includes former health secretary Matt Hancock, rugby player Mike Tindall, pop star Boy George and former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood.

Other contestants include radio DJ Chris Moyles, Loose Women star Charlene White, comedian Babatunde Aleshe and former England footballer Jill Scott.

Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, TV presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas and Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner will also appear.

However, back in 2018 Dorset's most famous resident Harry Redknapp starred on the show and went on to be crowned King of the Jungle at the age of 71.

Here we look back at some of his best moments.

Bournemouth Echo:

1. When Harry thought he'd be fed bacon sandwiches

The football manager kept the campers – and viewers – entertained with his funny tales and observations.

When he arrived on the show he admitted he thought the camp would be “a lot more luxurious” and the contestants would be fed bacon sandwiches.

He looked horrified when he heard emu was on the menu for dinner, saying he did not think he could eat it, particularly as he had been a fan of Rod Hull and Emu.

"I thought there was a caravan round the back here where they were doing bacon sandwiches," he said.

2. When Harry claimed he was in the SAS

Harry claimed to be able to go without food for long periods of time because he was used to it from his time in the SAS.

3. When he said he'd failed to recognise Prince Harry

Redknapp also amused fans when he told a story about not recognising Prince Harry when he said hello when their paths crossed at their physiotherapist’s office.

Redknapp said he thought the prince might be a player, and just acknowledged him with an “All right mate” and went back to his paper.

“I thought, ‘I know him from somewhere, that geezer, did he used to play for me?’,” he said.

He later asked someone who the man was, and was told it was Harry.

4. His Nero To Zero Bushtucker Trial with Noel Edmonds

Harry and fellow contestant Noel Edmonds showed off their determination when they held a stomach-churning array of jungle critters in their mouths to win food for their fellow campers.

The pair had to keep the creatures, including cockroaches, a stick insect and a huntsman spider, in their mouths for one minute at a time.

Despite a giant burrowing cockroach digging itself into Redknapp’s lip, they both succeeded. They were then tasked with eating a sheep’s brain each out of skulls as part of a Roman banquet.

For the final step, the stars were each presented with a wooden bowl filled with fish eyes and a glass with a sieve over it.

Harry and Noel had to squeeze the fish eyes in their mouths until they popped, then spit the contents into the sieve so the juice could trickle into the goblet until it reached a red line.

They then had to drink the fish eye juice.

5. When he was reunited with Sandra in the camp

There were tears all around as the campers were reunited with their loved ones during the last week of the series.

Harry was emotional as he talked to his wife Sandra.

Breaking down in tears, he said: “I can’t help this, it is not like me, I don’t normally cry, I’m pretty old school. Are you pleased to see me?”

“It’s funny, 54 years and we just don’t want to be apart, that’s done me up today, I’ve missed her so much. I love you so much,” he said.

6. When Harry said he'd never heard of Toy Story

Viewers were left amazed when Harry claimed he'd never heard of Disney film Toy Story.

7. When Harry took on the Celebrity Cyclone

Bournemouth Echo: Harry gets stuck in

Harry proved he had true grit when he took on the Celebrity Cyclone.

He suffered a fall during the challenge, but battled through to help his campmates claim the full complement of stars.

He said he should be at home with his feet up rather than being tormented as part of the watery task in the jungle.

He had to be helped through the Bushtucker Trial by Fleur East after being swept away at the start of the course.

Harry said: “I was supposed to be sitting at home in my house slippers, coming up to 72 years old, not going up a water slide getting smashed in the face by a ball.”

8. Harry's passion for jam roly poly

Harry talked about his love of jam roly poly (almost) as much as his love for Sandra.

The former football manager craved the pudding during his time in the jungle and was finally reunited with his favourite sweet treat during a special feast with his fellow campers.

After his appearance on I'm A Celeb, Harry and Sandra even helped serve up bowls of jam roly poly to homeless people in Bournemouth.

9. When Harry was crowned King of the Jungle

Harry said he was stunned to win the reality series after beating Emily Atack to the title, while John Barrowman was third.

Harry, who had never watched the ITV programme before entering the camp, said: "I'm amazed I survived three weeks."

During the final episode, all three remaining celebrities had to take on a last Bushtucker Trial to win a feast for their last supper.

Harry's trial saw him lying down in an underground chamber while creepy crawlies and rats ran all over him.
