TODAY we take a look at Church Hill, Swanage – a road full of historic charm and beauty.
Over the years we've run plenty of pictures of the area, but this time we shift focus to one relatively small street.
The view down Church Hill is dominated by the Tower of St Mary's Church. The tower predates the rest of the church by several hundred years.
At the top of the hill was once the village water pump. It has since been replaced by a stone cross in memory of Sir Reginald Palgrave (1829-1904).
Reginald was a British civil servant who was Clerk of the House of Commons.
On Church Hill you’ll also find Mill Pond, an idyllic urban pool created via a dam with the presence of a natural spring.
