TWO people have been injured following a “disturbance” in Verwood.

Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene in Pennine Way shortly after 4.30pm on Friday, November 4.

Residents reported seeing a large police presence nearby in Newtown Road, which was linked to the incident.

A man is receiving treatment for injuries sustained, while a woman, who was assaulted, suffered a cut to the nose.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We received a report at 4.33pm of a disturbance in Pennine Way in Verwood. It was reported that a man had sustained injuries.

Bournemouth Echo:

“Officers attended, along with the ambulance service and the injured man is receiving treatment for his injuries. We do not have an update on his condition at this time.

“It was further reported that a woman was assaulted and sustained a cut to her nose.

“Officers have been carrying out searches of the area and a man was arrested on suspicion of assault in the area of Newtown Road.

“Enquiries are ongoing, we are unable to give any further information at this time.”
