MULTIPLE police cars were involved in a 'dramatic' police chase through Bournemouth on Wednesday afternoon.

Police received a report shortly after 3am on Wednesday, November 2 that a vehicle had made off from officers in the Ringwood Road area of Poole

It was then further reported that the same vehicle, a black Audi A5, had been spotted in the Charminster area of Bournemouth.

Officers attended and were seen ‘chasing’ the Audi in the Meyrick Park area before stopping the car at the dead end of Central Drive this afternoon.

It is reported that two occupants of the car left the scene on foot. Officers located one man and he was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

One witness said he saw two unmarked armed police cars and three marked police cars chasing a black Audi A5 in Central Drive earlier this afternoon before stopping it at the dead end.

The witness said the cars came “flying round” near Meyrick Park and that it was “dramatic”, adding: “He mustn't have been local because he would have known Central Avenue is a dead end."
